Prevention through vaccination: Citi Health works with UNICEF again in 2023

A big part of what we do at Citi Health is delivering vaccinations to a diverse range of organisations, from film and TV and crews on night shoots to staff working in offices across London and the wider UK. We help our clients to protect employees against the flu and other preventable diseases so they have a better chance of staying healthy through the winter.

As the rapid spread of Covid-19 illustrated back in 2020, infections aren’t just a local but a global problem, and vaccinations play a crucial role in the fight against disease. At Citi Health we are passionate about protection through prevention. We believe that companies have a duty of care to their employees, and we also believe that the most fortunate should help the less well-off.

While those of us across the UK sought to guard against the twin threat of flu and Covid-19 this winter, millions of people around the world, and vulnerable children in particular, remain in dire need of vaccination against highly dangerous but preventable diseases.

2023 was our fifth year working with UNICEF, donating a proportion of our profits to support their vital ongoing work protecting children at risk in conflict zones or in the wake of natural disasters. Since 1980, UNICEF have helped to quadruple vaccination rates for children worldwide, saving up to three million children’s lives every year. They tailor vaccination services to the needs of communities, and remove the obstacles that prevent children from receiving life-saving vaccines.

For instance in 2021, 22.4 million children were vaccinated against measles in humanitarian emergencies across 48 countries. UNICEF are also supporting the Ukrainian Government’s immunisation programme to help protect children there from life-threatening diseases at a very difficult time for their country.

At Citi Health we are proud to say we’ve raised over £10,000 towards UNICEF’s ongoing mission to protect children from preventable diseases, including their drive to make sure nobody is left behind in the race to vaccinate the world against Covid-19. The scale of the problem is huge and our donations are just a small contribution but it illustrates our ongoing commitment to prevention through positive action; we are a small business but we like to think we are doing our bit to make a difference.
